As a platform for ideas and coproduction, the DOK.forum Marketplace again invites around selected documentary film projects in development stage in 2022. Projects meet experts such as commissioning editors, producers, funding representatives, distributors and sales agents - this year in a hybrid format on site in Munich and online!
The aim of DOK.forum Marketplace is to offer relevant film ideas a suitable forum through targeted matchmaking, to provide valuable feedback, to enable new partnerships and thus help the projects to get realised.

DOK.forum Marketplace – awards
With the DOK.series Award from TELLUX-Film and megaherz for strong serial storytelling, the DOK.archive Award from British Pathé for outstanding archive film projects, the DOK.composition Award for composition ideas, donated by Sonoton Music, and the DOK.talent Award by Haus des Dokumentarfilms for students, the DOK.forum Marketplace offers four endowed competitions with prize money totalling 10,000 euros as well as further mentoring and festival awards.
The funding award honours projects with a large proportion of archive material and thus strengthens a documentary genre rich in tradition. The winning project will receive British Pathé archive material worth 15,000 euros or, alternatively, 2,500 euros in cash. British Pathé is the prize sponsor.
In order to strengthen the artistic collaboration between filmmakers and composers, the best musical concept for a documentary film will be endowed with 2,500 euros. Sponsored by Sonoton Music.
The pitch competition, donated by Haus des Dokumentarfilms, offers students from our partner universities the opportunity to further develop their current projects in exchange with editors, producers and distributors and to win new financing partners.
Since 2021, DOK.fest Munich is offering a new and Germayn-wide unique award that promotes serial documentary storytelling regardless of format. DOK.series is donated by TELLUX-Film and megaherz and is endowed with 2,500 euros.
