Germany 2020 – Director: Valentin Riedl – Original language: German – Subtitles: English – Length: 81 min.

Where the eyes, nose and mouth are makes no difference to Carlotta. She can’t recognise faces, even her own. The neuroscientist Valentin Riedl enables us to enter Carlotta’s world: with tactile self-portraits her face – and her self – become accessible to her.

Valentin Riedl studied medicine at the TUM in Munich and neuroscience at the LMU and received a research grant from the WHO. He works as a scientist at the TUM. For LOST IN FACE he received the Max Ophüls Audience Award for the best documentary film.
