Kei Watanabe

Kei Watanabe is a Sri Lankan Japanese performance artist and composer based in Berlin. Watanabe primarily performs improvised electro acoustic pieces using her voice, found instruments and as fx pedals. After completing her Bachelors in Psychology, Watanabe went on to study yogic sciences, mysticism and animism to understand personal and collective healing and trauma, which inspires her work to this day. Through her heavy use of loopers, she creates intricate and ever shifting layers of memory, prayer and transformation.
