Dr. Grit Lemke

Lemke studied cultural studies, ethnology and literature. This was followed by a PhD in European ethnology. Since 1991 she has been working as a freelance journalist, author and curator. Until 2017 she directed the film programme at DOK Leipzig. She curates numerous film series in Germany and abroad, is a mentor and tutor in training programmes and works as an author and dramaturg on documentary films and series, publications on documentary film. Lemke also offers coaching and strategy consulting. She is a member of the BKM jury for documentaries. At the Cottbus Film Festival she curates the German-Sorbic section "Heimat | Domownja | Domizna". She is co-founder of the "Designing festival work fairly" initiative and is a member of the ver.di festival work group.
