Sharon Ryba-Kahn

Sharon Ryba-Kahn, born in Munich, is a Franco-Israeli director. She studied acting, film production, and directing in Paris, New York, and Berlin. With her first documentary film "Recognition" (2015), she successfully applied for the directing program at the Film University Babelsberg "Konrad Wolf". During her directing studies, Sharon directed three short films and the feature film "Displaced," which premiered at the DOK.fest Munich in 2020. Currently, she is working on film projects including "Love, till 120" and "Forbidden Dance," whose development was supported by the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and won the Pitch Award at the Documentary Campus Master School. As part of her PhD at the HFF "Konrad Wolf," she is currently focusing on the representation of collective transgenerational trauma in indigenous Australian documentary film
