"We were those who knew but did not understand, full of information but without realisation, brimming with knowledge but meagre in experience. And so we went, unstopped by ourselves." (Roger Willemsen). What will future generations think of us when we are already history? Director Marc Bauder looks at the current state of the world and asks whether they will despair of us. To this end, he accompanies six thinkers and scientists – into the depths of the ocean, across the roof of the world and into the vastness of space – and sheds light on the capabilities of the human brain, the feelings of a robot, the legacy of colonisation and an economic summit.
