DOK.guest Czech Republic and Slovakia
This year’s DOK.guest section takes a look at our neighbours in the east: the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Six films define a film region that is characterised by strong auteur visions and a passion for enigmatic and somewhat comical topics. They show present day right-wing mobs rioting and plunge into Czech history. We accompany outsiders on their way back into society. We meet artists, visionaries and politicians, observe the well-known Czech photographer, Josef Koudelka, at work and get to know a charismatic doctor and holocaust denier.
