Julien Coquet

I’m born in Switzerland (by accident), grew up in Germany (it happens), my sense of humor is typically French, and my Spanish roots make me look like a Lebanese. All my life, I've been asking myself the question of exile, freedom, identity. With the firm belief that documentaries can save lives against one-track thinking and the power of ignorance, I strive to defend singular works which reflect the complexity of the world. I can’t imagine producing films without taking risks, exploring and being out of my comfort zone. Documentary is the art of taking time to understand what is foreign to us, to make our collective therapy. Documentaries have this power, since reality always exceeds fiction.
