Akmaral Zykayeva

Akmaral Zykayeva known as Mergen - is Kazakh independent artist, composer, singer-songwriter, sound producer, violinist. Graduated The Kazakh State Conservatory by violin class (2008), IAP in Musician’s Institute, Hollywood USA (2010). To the date as a feature film composer she presented herself in such films like the Horse Thieves: Roads of Time (dir. Yerlan Nurmukhambetov, L.Takeba 2019) Dissolve (dir. Kim Ki Duk, 2019), currently she's working on upcoming films by Kazakhfilm studios "Aqtastagi Akhiko" (Yeldar Kaparov 2021), "Qash" (dir. Aisultan Seitov, Qaraproduction, 2021), "May it be a girl" (dir. Katerina Suvorova 2021). Akmaral is also a participant of Berlinale Talents 2020 as a film composer.
