Cosima Frei

Cosima Frei was born 1987 and raised in Zurich. During an exchange year in New Zealand, she discovered her interest in filmmaking. In 2012, she completed her bachelor's degree at the Zurich University of the Arts. Her graduation film WO GÖMMER celebrated international festival successes, including a nomination for the Studio Hamburg Young Talent Award. For two years she worked on various feature film projects in Germany and Switzerland (Nachtlärm, Nachtzug nach Lissabon, Nichts Passiert) as an assistant director. In 2017 she finished the directing master's programme at ZHdK with the short film ZWISCHENSTOPP, co-produced with 2:1Film, which premiered at the Max Ophüls Festival. In 2018 Cosima worked as a director on the 2nd season of the SRF series Seitentriebe by Güzin Kar.
