Mark Atkin

As director of Crossover Labs, Mark works with film and TV producers and directors, games developers and web designers, preparing them to become the multiplatform producers of tomorrow, through labs and workshops such as The Independent Producers' Toolkit and Devise to Deliver. He curates and hosts Alternate Realities at Sheffield Doc/Fest, comprising the Summit, an annual digital conference, public exhibitions of the world’s most exciting interactive and Virtual Reality documentary work, and the AR Market for interactive projects seeking funding.

 He is an award-winning independent producer, having been commissioned by BBC, Channel 4 and international networks over the past six years. His two most recent films, The Show of Shows and Love Is All, were released theatrically last year and his latest, Atomic, will be programmed as a live performance even at the Edinburgh International Festival. He has won two Lovies and a BAFTA award for Digital Creativity. He is currently producing the BBC’s first Virtual Reality documentary commission: Voice of a Rebel: Easter Rising.

 He has worked as Multiplatform Commissioner for Channel 4, UK, as a Commissioning Editor for SBS-TV, Australia, and as a film programmer for the Australian Film Institute.
