“Watch out for the Crocodile. It might eat you!” It might not be a typical warning for a five-year-old but Natal is spending the summer with his father, Jorge, off the Banco Chinchorro coral reef, one of the last intact ecosystems on earth. Here, in his father’s homeland, Natal discovers the wonders of sea life, learns to fish and spends his days in rhythm with the wind and the waves. After the summer Natan will move to Rome with his mother and discover the world of the city. Alamar is a sensual film: you can taste the salt of the sea on your lips and feel the breeze on your skin. It champions a sensitive way of life, simple and in tune with nature.
