Finding international partners for your documentary project can be a great benefit not only for your story but also for financing your film. But how to find the right partners and how to approach them? What pitfalls and risks do I have to keep in mind? Zeynep Güzel, who has managed Turkey's first private documentary fund, programmed the industry workshop series !f Doc Lab from 2016 to 2019 in the scope !f Istanbul Independent Film Festival and is the workshop experts on storytelling, international grant writing and funding strategies at the Toolbox program by Berlinale EFM since 2020 will give advice and discuss all questions you may have.

Zeynep Güzel is a filmmaker, consultant, and the head of Doc Station at the Berlinale Talents. Zeynep written, directed, and produced the feature documentary Come Rain or Shine (2019) and works on the feature fiction When The Sun Comes Out (fellow of Nipkow Program and funded by Medienboard the German-Turkish co-production development fund). As former head of the Yeni Film Fund in Turkey and senior consultant to the DAE, Zeynep works with emerging and established creatives, helping them explore their artistic vision and supporting them with her knowledge of international documentary film industry. Zeynep is a board member of Documentary Film Council (UK), programming consultant at IDA (USA) and a member of European Film Academy.
