THE FILM PROGRAMME OF DOK.fest MÜNCHEN @HOME
DOK.fest München 2021 @home came to a close on 23 May. 131 films from 43 countries were shown.
Here you can find an overview of all the films. The programme booklet can be viewed here.
HÖHENFLÜGE – HIGHFLYERS (Germany 2019, Lena Leonhardt, DOK.deutsch). Several hundred thousand euros for a pigeon: a price many super rich in Dubai or China are willing to pay because especially in China betting on pigeon races has become a million-dollar business. HIGHFLYERS talks about winners and losers in a game ruled by the new powers of global economy.
ANOTHER LIFE (Austria, Germany 2019, Jan Prazak, Student Award). Alex lives as a hermit in Ireland and spends his days in the company of the animals he shares his home with. He lovingly takes care of injured sea birds. Alex doesn’t speak much about his earlier life but, little by little, we get to know the background to his radical lifestyle.
MORGEN, WENN DIE HUNDE SCHLAFEN (Germany 2018, Louis Marioth, Student Award). Rambling through the wood and the wilderness with Holly, Peaches and co. Conversations about relationships, illnesses and holidays take place along the way. Insightful images, consistently filmed from the perspective of the four-legged protagonists.
LOS REYES (Chile, Germany 2018, Bettina Perut, Ivan Osnovikoff, DOK.panorama). They can be found here in all weathers in Los Reyes, the oldest skate park in Santiago de Chile, where youth hangs out. This is home to two stray dogs, Chola and Football. A portrait of a section of Chilean society from an unusual perspective.
