Award ceremony of the youth film competition 2026

As part of DOK.fest München and in cooperation with the main prize sponsors, the Bavarian Teachers’ Association (Bayerischer Lehrer- und Lehrerinnenverband e.V.) and the Munich Teachers’ Association (Münchner Lehrer- und Lehrerinnenverband e.V.), DOK.education will announce the winners of the 2026 Documentary Film Competition for Young People.

We will present the award-winning films on the big screen at the cinema of the University of Television and Film Munich. Afterward, we will take a look behind the scenes of documentary filmmaking in engaging discussions with the film teams. Prizes totaling 1,100 euros await the young filmmakers. Following the event, we invite you to join us for light refreshments and conversation in the foyer of the HFF Munich.

Awards

Thanks to the main sponsors – BLLV e.V., the Bavarian Teachers' Association, and the Munich Teachers' Association – four prizes totaling 1,100 euros will be awarded:

  • 1st prize main category, endowed with 400 euros 
  • 2nd prize main category, endowed with 300 euros 
  • 3rd prize main category, endowed with 200 euros 
  • 1st prize category 6- to 11-year-olds, endowed with 200 euros

Five experts from the fields of film, media and education will decide on the submitted documentaries and the award winners:

Bahar Bektas, filmmaker and social worker
