Thematic programme sections

Once again this year, DOK.fest München is presenting its films in thematically organized sections, with films nominated for the VIKTORIAs and other awards across all sections.

A Signature Film in each section makes it even easier to navigate the program. This film represents the overarching theme and is accompanied by an in-depth discussion, the so-called FocusTalk.

Adele Kohout (Festival Director): “Organising the festival into themed sections proved successful last year. By selecting signature films, we aim to make the festival – with its more than one hundred films – even more accessible for audiences. As most viewers base their film choices on thematic focuses, the FokusTalks create further opportunities to engage even more deeply with the themes. At the same time, this approach broadens the scope for discourse at the festival.”
