Video competition HISTORY-AWARD 2026

What does being human mean to you?

As part of DOK.fest München in May 2026, DOK.education is hosting the award ceremony for the HISTORY-AWARD 2026, which this year has the motto “Be human” The HISTORY Channel award has been given out regularly since 2005 and is supported by GigaTV, Vodafone's TV service, as the award sponsor, and DOK.education.

Students of all ages and school types are invited to explore the topic in different ways. Whether it's a feature film, animated film, documentary, interview, or all of the above, the jury is looking forward to receiving video submissions between 3 and 8 minutes in length from all over Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

The competition is open to school classes, groups of students, or individual students under the guidance of their teachers, department heads, or other adult supervisors. Participation does not have to be as a class.

The registration deadline is 31 December 2025 / The submission deadline is 1 March 2026.
