DOK.network Africa fellows 2018: Lawrence Agbetsise, Ghana, and Cyrielle Raingou, Cameroon

Start of the Residency Programme in March 2018

In 2018, a DOK.network Africa Residency for two young filmmakers from sub-Saharan Africa was offered for the first time in cooperation with the Cultural Department of the City of Munich and the University for Television and Film. From 2 March to 14 May 2018, Cyrielle Raingou from Cameroon and Lawrence Agbetsise from Ghana came to Munich to develop their first long documentary film projects with the support of two mentors. A carte blanche for the roundtables of the DOK.forum marketplace enabled filmmakers to present their projects to national and international experts, producers, distributors and editors. One project could even find a German co-production.

Thanks to our partners, we were able to offer two scholarships in 2018, which included the mentoring and training programme, travel to and from Munich, a monthly pocket money of 1,200 euros and accommodation. With the support of the Cultural Department of the City of Munich, the two scholarship holders were accommodated in Ebenböckhaus in Pasing, one of the artists' residences of the City of Munich.
