Media Arts Exhibition »Dauerschleife«

To mark the 20th anniversary of the Kirch Media Art Scholarship at HFF München, three works from three generations of scholarship recipients are presented together from 10–16 May 2026. The exhibition »Dauerschleife« takes place in TV Studio 1 of HFF, parallel to DOK.fest München.

A "Smart Film" on artificial intelligence and transhumanism, retelling and transforming itself live and infinitely through machine learning.

 


Loop Labor

by Felix Klee & Gisela Carbajal Rodríguez (Media-art 2022)

A video intervention into power structures in video games: through modding in Grand Theft Auto V, Latin American NPC field workers break out of their programmed labour loops and form a union.

by Daniel T. Halsall (Media-art 2025)

A documentary 16mm expanded-cinema installation on our relationship to the smartphone. Shot among the Munduruku in the Amazon (online via Starlink since 2024) and in Australia (the world's first social media ban for under-16s, December 2025).
