Rupert Jörg

Film maker and art educator

Rupert Jörg studied media art and art education at the academies of fine arts in Munich and Vienna, as well as in Marseille. As part of two DAAD scholarships, he realised cooperative video art projects in Kazakhstan, China and Malaysia, including CLOUD COATING.

His films often navigate the tension between documentary and fiction, drawing on found footage. In terms of content, he deals with the changing media landscape, social polarisation and childhood biographies. He regularly collaborates with children and young people from his workshops – as was the case with the sci-fi grotesque CHILD IN TIME, created in 2025.

In his film workshops – often in collaboration with CINÉ VÉLO CITÉ – he combines different artistic disciplines such as animation, theatre, costume and stage design. In this way, he opens up a variety of approaches to the medium of film for participants and creates space for individual preferences and forms of expression.
