Editorial Assistant (m/f/d)

For the Festival 2023 (3–14 May in the cinema, 8–21 May @home) we are looking for an assistant (m/f/d) in the department of communication to join the editorial team from February until the end of May 2023.

The tasks include:

  • Coordinating and editing the production of print materials
  • Film and magazine copywriting and editing
  • Maintenance of the homepage: Visual preparation, research and writing of content in the CMS
  • Independent writing and sending of the DOK.fest newsletter
  • Communication of the festival programme in event calendars and monthly bulletins, support of cooperation partners
  • Image research and content research

Profile sought:

  • Experience in editorial work
  • Organised and responsible way of working
  • Friendly and self-confident appearance and communication skills
  • A high degree of independence, team spirit and commitment
  • Interest in documentary film

Social Media Editorial Assistant (m/f/d)

For the 2023 Festival (3–14 May in the cinema, 8–21 May @home), we are looking for an assistant (m/f/d) in the department of communication to join the social media editorial team from the beginning of March until the end of May 2023.

The tasks include:

  • Operational support of the social media channels before and during the festival period (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn)
  • Creating texts for the social media channels
  • Designing banners, graphics and video clips for use on the social media channels and in the online editorial department
  • Active networking with and support for media partners
  • Ongoing research and development of new festival channels

Profile sought:

  • Experience in creating social media content as well as editorial work
  • Organised and responsible way of working
  • Friendly and self-confident appearance and communication skills

  • Research and expansion of target group contacts
  • Maintenance of target group database
  • Design of mail templates (HTML)
  • Networking with target group institutions on social media
  • Implementation of promotional campaigns

Profile sought:

  • Experience in marketing and/or public relations
  • Organized way of working

The festival

In recent years, DOK.fest München has developed into one of the most renowned and largest public and industry festivals dedicated exclusively to international, artistically valuable, socially relevant, feature-length documentary films. Every year in May and throughout the year, we present outstanding documentaries from all over the world on the big screen. DOK.fest München took place dual for the first time in 2022, setting the course for the future of the festival: the 124 films from 55 countries were presented both in Munich on the cinema screen and at home on the digital screen, and we welcomed a total of around 47,000 viewers on site in Munich as well as at home @home across Germany.
