Samay Claro

Head of Communication, Programmer, steering committee

Samay Claro has been Head of Communications since 2017 and became a member of the festival’s management board in 2025. She is also Co-Project Manager of the streaming platform dok@home and part of the programme selection team.
She studied art and literary studies in Munich and Buenos Aires, followed by design and communication strategies in Augsburg. After completing a traineeship in book editing, she worked for various publishers, editorial offices, and film productions before joining the DOK.fest team in 2011, initially as Head of Editorial. From 2011 to 2017, Samay also served as Co-Curator and Co-Director of the Latin American Film Days Munich.
