Every year in May, the DOK.fest München presents the most important documentary films from all over the world at attractive venues in the centre of Munich.
Within the last few years, DOK.fest München has developed into one of the largest film festivals in Europe. Reason enough to give documentary film a strong lobby with the DOK.fest München Circle of Friends. Become a member and thus part of the festival!

Opening of DOK.fest München
As a friend of the festival, you will receive free entry to the opening ceremony in the Deutsches Theater. Send us an email up to 14 days before the festival starts and we will put you on the guest list.
GANZ GROSSES KINO!
At the festival in May you can experience outstanding documentary films as German premieres at the Deutsches Theater in Munich with GANZ GROSSES KINO!. Admission is free for DOK.fest München friends. Registration must be made by email at least one day in advance.
Festival bag
Every year in May we reserve a festival bag for you at the festival center counter. Come visit us and pick up your bag.
School of Seeing – exclusive
For members of the Circle of Friends we offer exclusive film education workshops with DOK.education director Maya Reichert. Once a year, interested members of the Circle of Friends meet in Munich or online and then film analysis, a look behind the scenes or an interview workshop are on the agenda (in German).

Members of the Circle of Friends receive one free ticket per film for our online film library DOK.fest @home Selection where we present a film particularly worth seeing from past festival editions every month.

Would you like to become a member?
Thank you for your support and friendship! Please fill in the registration form (in German) and send it by mail or post to the address below.
The membership fee for individuals is 50 euros per year.
The membership fee for companies is 200 euros per year.
(Registration between August and December 2023: 25 euros, or 100 euros for companies).
How do you get free tickets?
Individuals receive one free ticket per event. Companies receive three free tickets per event.
DOK.aroundtheclock programme: For the cinema events in Munich, please contact us by email at least one day in advance. We will make sure that the free ticket is deposited for you.
DOK.fest @home Selection: For the films in the online media library, please write us an email, send a WhatsApp message or call us. You will receive a voucher code per film to watch the film at home asap.
Opening, festival and festival bag: To attend the opening at the Deutsches Theater in early May, please send an email 14 days in advance so that we can put you on the guest list. The sooner you get in touch, the better we can plan.
The films in the series GANZ GROSSES KINO in the Deutsches Theater can be picked up at the box office or reserved and deposited by e-mail. No advance booking is required here.
School of Seeing Workshop: Every autumn we offer a meeting where Circle of Friends members can get together, watch a short film together, enjoy a workshop or lecture on the film and get into conversation with each other. You will hear about it in an exclusive Circle of Friends mailing and can then register.

The regular DOK.fest München newsletter, to which we automatically subscribe you, informs you about our current DOK.aroundtheclock programme and the monthly film of our online film library DOK.fest @home Selection. We kindly ask you to allow us to make organisational changes to the Friends programme. Possible changes as well as special additional offers will be announced here on the website and in the exclusive Circle of Friends newsletter.
Change to annual cycle from January 2024
Your Circle of Friends membership period will always begin in January of each year. On 15 January you will receive the invoice or convert the standing order accordingly.
Please always give notice of cancellation in December at the latest. Or, when registering, inform us immediately of your wish to limit your membership to a one-year cycle. If you do not give notice, your membership will be automatically renewed.
The following applies to members of the Circle of Friends who have been registered for a long time:
You joined in the first half of the year (January – July) and so far you have always paid your membership fee in this period? Thank you for your friendship! In the future you will receive your invoice in January and pay for the following year.
You joined in the second half of the year (August – December) and have always paid your membership fee in this period? In 2023 you will not receive another invoice. We will give you the remaining months of 2023 as a gift. From January 2024 you will always receive your invoice in January and thus pay the following year.
