Film literacy: Behind the scenes of a documentary short film

In this event, MVHS will show an artistic documentary film from the current programme of DOK.fest München and then invite you to a detailed film discussion with Maya Reichert, filmmaker and long-time head of DOK.education, the film literacy section of the Munich International Documentary Film Festival.

The guided film analysis will sharpen your eye for the media representation of reality. You will learn about the often inconspicuous but effective directorial decisions that documentary filmmakers make to guide our perception of reality.

Anyone who wants to not only experience films but also learn to consciously ‘read’ them will gain valuable insights here. The event is aimed at anyone who is interested in film and would like to learn more about the genre of artistic documentary film. No prior knowledge or materials are required.
