DOK.fest Augsburg 2026

From 14–17 May 2026, Augsburg will once again become a hub for documentary film: DOK.fest Augsburg will bring a selection of films to the Liliom and Thalia theaters, curated around the issues that matter to the city.
Four days and eight documentaries that open up new perspectives: on water, the environment, culture, and social issues related to Augsburg, such as the film about Helene Weigel, the influential theater maker who worked alongside Bertolt Brecht. Film discussions with guests bring the topics into focus and invite dialogue. The Department of Culture, World Heritage, and Sports and DOK.fest Munich invite you to a reception for the grand opening.

DOK.fest Augsburg is an event organized by DOK.fest Munich in cooperation with the Department of Culture, World Heritage, and Sports of the City of Augsburg and the city’s cinemas.
