VIDEO EVERYWHERE. THE INSATIABLE HUNGER MOVING IMAGES AND STORIES

The shift towards video-based communication represents both achallenge and an opportunity and opens up possibilities for new forms of distribution and representation. Bertram Gugel will discuss what these possibilities are in his keynote speech.

Bertram Gugel studied communication and media studies at Leipzig University and worked for Axel Springer and Deutsche Telekom. As an independent consultant he advises companies on product conception and strategy development within the fields of internet TV and online video.

Since 2005 he has been writing in his blog, “Digitaler Film,” about the interface between television, film and internet and the resulting challenges, opportunities and possibilities. Case Study with Christiane Miethge
DO NOT TRACK

Do Not Track is a personalized web documentary series about the multi million pound business that surrounds our data – implemented in an extraordinary way: the user, by means of their own data, can see just who is monitoring them on the internet and what consequences that might have. With her case study Christiane Miethge will give an insight into the formation of the project.

Christiane Miethge works in the crossmedia section of BR and as a film writer. She is the project manager for Do Not Track and is predominantly responsible for issues of content.

Keynote with Philipp Schall
TRANSMEDIA PRODUKTION

The idea has been established, everyone is enthusiastic, but one issue can ruin the best of projects: where does the money come from? Transmedia producer Philipp Schall gives an insight into the financing and business models of elaborate transmedia projects.

Together with the chief executive of Tellux-Gruppe, Martin Choroba, Philipp Schall is the managing director of Tellux Next GmbH. A film producer with international experience, he has been involved in games development with scriptwriters and interdisciplinary creatives for some years. At Filmfest München 2013 Philipp Schall curated a strand that put a spotlight on games and works as acting chairman at Transmedia Bayern e.V. He is principally interested in being able to manage all levels of project development as a creative producer from the first concepts to the completion of a project.

Case Study with Martin Schilt
FACE YOUR FEARS

Alongside the film portrait, of H.R. Giger, DARK STAR (Screening on Sunday 10th May 2015, at 20:00 at Audimax), the multimedia project, faceyourfears.ch was developed. Giger was an early transmedia pioneer. He told his stories convergently using a range of completely different media – accepting all the consequences of this and often going against the “rules” of the art establishment – and this was long before the idea became fashionable within the industry. When it comes to trans, cross and multi media storytelling, H.R. Giger is a role model.

Martin Schilt (SRF)
