DOK.education: The film for 12- to 16-year-olds

With EXTRAORDINARY MONA, your pupils will watch a short documentary film suitable for their age group and learn background information and interesting facts about the topic and the film's production in an interview with the filmmaker. Our film educators will demonstrate how the film's stylistic devices work and trigger emotions. Young people learn to view films in a differentiated way and are motivated to apply this to their own everyday media use. This helps them become critical and self-aware media users. We show documentary films that tell stories from the lives of young people on an equal footing and with artistic merit.

Teachers have access to comprehensive supporting material for preparing and following up on the film. The educational programme accompanying the film EXTRAORDINARY MONA is suitable for middle secondary schools. Is this film suitable for your class?
