Studied Communication, Social and Political Science at the University of Erfurt and International Politics with a focus on Africa at the University of Wales in Aberystwyth, UK. She works as a freelance journalist on cultural, political, economic and social developments in Africa. Research trips have taken her to Burkina Faso, Ghana, South Africa, Mozambique and the Caribbean. In 2011, she took part in the pan-African film and television festival FESPACO in Ouagadougou, where she made her first contacts with the African film scene. In March 2013, she took over as head of the Africa department of DOK.fest München.
