Call for Entries: EFM Doc Series Pitch

 

 

Application Berlinale Doc Series Pitch

Up to 10 Doc Series projects looking for international co-production and financing partners will be presented within the Berlinale Series Market February 14 to 16, 2027, jointly curated between DOK.forum München and the EFM DocSalon. This will be a presentation of a selection of projects which have not previously been presented at any industry event nor during a festival or market prior to the EFM Berlinale 2027.

The Doc Series selection will be announced mid-December 2026. The call for submissions for doc series projects is open mid-August till October 1st, 2026. Participation in the event is either by invitation or accessible while holding the EFM Market Badge.

 

Doc Series: Project Requirements

Projects should be:

  • exciting first-season, high-quality Doc series or miniseries (no procedurals)
  • suitable for international co-production and looking for co-production partners and/ or financers

Projects may be submitted:

  • by producers from all over the world
  • in development and financing stages, with or without confirmed financing in place, but not in production yet
  • with or without confirmed partners such as a broadcaster, streamer or international distributor on board

 

Doc Series: Project Submission

From August 18 till October 1 (12:00 noon, CEST), producers can submit their doc series projects for Berlinale Doc Series Pitch. Required material (all in English language):

  • Fully completed online Doc Series submission form
  • One-pager (a 1-2-page pitch of the project)
  • Pilot Treatment (5 pages) and/or Script
  • Bible of the Series (Characters, World, Season Overview)
  • Dialogue Scene (5-page script excerpt, in English)
  • Financing Plan (in Euros; indicating precisely which elements are confirmed, as well as the timeline for non-confirmed elements)
  • Motivation video/Teaser/Visuals (where available)

Terms of Participation

The Berlinale Doc Series Pitch is meant to be a “natural” meeting place for producers and financiers who are attending the EFM Berlinale and/or the EFM DocSalon & Archive Market and/or the Berlinale Series Market anyway. Therefore, the Berlinale Doc Series Pitch does not provide travel nor accomodation arrangements. Participation in the event is either by invitation or accessible while holding the EFM Market Badge.

The BCPM reserves the right to admit or deny the access to any person whose conduct is not respectful towards the other participants and/or the team members. The KBB House Rules apply.
