Stop-Motion Workshop for kids and teens with Ciné Vélo Cité
Documentary filmmaking with stop-motion technology
Making your own movie? You can do this, for example, by telling a story about another person. In our workshop, we will create documentary films together using stop-motion technology!
In the workshop, filmmakers Patrik, Guida and Rupert from CinéVéloCité will show you how to conduct an interview and use it to make your own animated film using simple means. Your ideas will be realized in self-made film worlds and short stories and interviews will become short films. The program used allows you to create your own editing, sound and effects. At the end, we will present your films on the lawn of the Munich Film Academy in the bicycle cinema.

Programme
In a first documentary exercise, the participants get to know each other in an interview situation. For this purpose, approx. 2-4 children per team get together. The quiz cards provide them with a common thread with a focus on content that they can use as a guide. In the second step, the content-related topics are first expanded through small writing exercises (for the older ones) or in verbal exchange (for the younger ones), thought bigger, fantasized further in order to then find out the essentials again and concretize them. Finally, the ideas are implemented in self-made film worlds. For this, the participants mainly use our existing material, little things from the surroundings can be incorporated or the children have personal objects that become important in terms of documentary themes.
