The German film WATCHING YOU – DIE WELT VON PALANTIR UND ALEX KARP opens the 39th DOK.fest München!
With his company Palantir, businessman Alex Karp created a powerful piece of data analysis software. It provides intelligence service, the military and police investigators with information that can be used to solve crimes or kill people. But what drives the creator of the software – ethical fundamentals or a thirst for power, is he a Faust, a Mephisto or both at the same time? Director Klaus Stern and his film crew will be our guests at the festival opening on 1 May 2024 at Deutsches Theater.
As in previous years, the festive opening of DOK.fest München will take place in the magnificent hall of the Deutsches Theater, which can accommodate 1,400 guests. You can buy a ticket here as well as directly at the Deutsches Theater.
Biography
Born in Ziegenhain in northern Hesse, he grew up on a farm and trained as a postman. Filmmaker Klaus Stern studied economics and politics at the University of Kassel and founded his own production company, sternfilm, in 2000. In his award-winning documentaries, Stern shows the relationship between capital and people.
