MUSIC FOR BLACK PIGEONS

Denmark 2022 – Director: Jørgen Leth, Andreas Koefoed – Original language: English – Subtitles: German – Length: 92 min.

The guitarist Jakob Bro and his companions – including Midori Takada, Bill Frisell and Lee Konitz – don’t just make great jazz together, they also talk about it a lot. For 14 years, the filmmakers accompanied Bro on tour, during rehearsals and in his everyday life. The result is a film that gives us deep insights into the (intellectual) world of the jazz musicians and that celebrates music as an existential good. Samay Claro
