LESSONS OF LOVE

Poland 2019 – Director: Małgorzata Goliszewska, Kasia Mateja – Original language: Polish – Subtitles: English – Length: 75 min.

Life is a stage: At least for Jola. No matter whether she is gossiping with friends on the beach in a bathing suit, meeting her children or floating across the dancefloor of Café Smile. She is the star, make-up and eccentric dresses fit perfectly. At 69, Jola leaves her violent husband and their shared home in Italy. She returns to Poland and now wants everything before it's too late: singing, dancing – and maybe even love? Observation and dreamlike staging combine to create a unique, touching portrait.
