The German Documentary Film Music Award honours a composition for a feature-length cinema documentary that engages with the documentary narrative in a distinctive way. The award is intended as a platform for the work of composers and the value of music as a narrative layer in documentary film.
With the DOK.composition Award, the DOK.forum Marketplace presents a grant for documentary film and composition.

Jens Schanze follows negotiations over mining and extraction rights while also drawing on the words of an indigenous chronicler from 1615. Filmmaker Jens Schanze studied at the HFF Munich and shot his first film in Bolivia in 1994. He has received numerous awards for his films.
