On this evening, both the German Documentary Film Music Award and the DOK.composition Award of the DOK.forum Marketplace will be presented.
The German Documentary Film Music Award honours a composition for a feature-length cinema documentary that engages with the documentary narrative in a distinctive way. The award is intended as a platform for the work of composers and the value of music as a narrative layer in documentary film.
With the DOK.composition Award, the DOK.forum Marketplace presents a grant for documentary film and composition.

Europe’s hunger for lithium for electric cars and the energy transformation collides with Bolivia’s resources and 400 years of colonial history. Jens Schanze follows negotiations over mining and extraction rights while also drawing on the words of an indigenous chronicler from 1615. A film about resource justice and structures that stubbornly repeat themselves. S.B.
Biography
Jens Schanze is a German filmmaker. He shot his first film in Bolivia in 1994 and studied at the HFF Munich. In 2002, he founded the production company Mascha Film. He has received the Bavarian Film Award several times for his films.
