DOK.fest Munich is looking for new head of DOK.forum

As part of DOK.fest München, DOK.forum serves as a networking platform and think tank for the documentary film industry, focusing on the DACH region. The programme, comprising the Marketplace and Perspectives pillars, provides a springboard for national and international filmmakers at all stages of their projects.

The management of DOK.forum includes...

  • the conception, strategic orientation and implementation of the industry programme for the core areas
  • DOK.forum Marketplace: pitch formats, roundtable sessions and one-to-one meetings
  • DOK.forum Perspectives: Thematic discussion formats
  • Collaborations: Delegations, Curated presentations of external partners
  • The application to sponsors, acquisition of strategic partnerships, and communication with existing partners and sponsors.
  • Budget responsibility in coordination with DOK.fest München festival management in conception, realisation and reporting.
  • The result-oriented representation of the industry platform DOK.forum on national and international markets and festivals.


We are looking for someone who...

  • has sound experience in the documentary or film industry, ideally with a background in festivals, markets or funding institutions;
  • has experience in leading small teams and coordinating diverse stakeholders
  • has a well-established international industry network; contacts in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland would be advantageous.
  • has experience in budget management and cooperation with public and private funding bodies
  • Ideally, they will be based in Munich or willing to work on site regularly. Office presence is desired; time management can be handled flexibly in consultation with the team and management.
  • Business fluency in both German and English (written and spoken).
  • Has excellent communication, coordination and social skills.
  • Is confident in using Google Workspace and databases.
  • Has a university degree or equivalent professional qualification.

This is a full-time position (39 hours/week) starting mid-October 2025. A part-time start is possible the first months; from December onwards, the position is designed as full-time due to project requirements.
