New from 2025: FFA reference grant for competition films
DOK.fest can celebrate a great success: As of this year, we are one of the festivals at which all German films running in the DOK.international main competition receive 50,000 reference points from the German Federal Film Board (FFA). This applies to participation in the competition alone – not just to winning. We are very proud to be able to offer this support!
Daniel Sponsel and Adele Kohout (festival directors): "In the last few editions, we have repeatedly lost one or two important films because the producers awarded them to festivals where they received reference points. That was understandable: 50,000 points are usually worth around 50,000 euros, which is valuable as seed money for the next production."
