GURBET IS A HOME NOW

Germany 2021 – Director: Pınar Öğrenci – Original language: English, German, Turkish – Subtitles: English, Turkish – Length: 63 min.

“Gurbet” – which in Turkish means something like “far away” – has become a second home for many migrants in Germany. Using the example of a 1980s urban planning project in Kreuzberg, GURBET IS A HOME NOW shows the effects of the West German building policy on migrants – to this day.
