FINOW
Deutschland 2002 – Director: Susanne Quester – Original language: German – Length: 8 min.
Finow is an independent state at the edge of a great river. Its inhabitants mainly live on bananas. To finance their food, the Finowians have opened a company that makes the scaffolds for construction. The streets of our cities have become unimaginable without their company's scaffolding. In Berlin alone, every day they provide 300 buildings with scaffolding. Although the Finowians work day and night, they live happily in a class free society. Sometimes an individual may declare himself president, but he can easily be impeached. Finow doesn't need a police force either. But lately a dark shadow has settled on Finow: more and more scaffolding companies have begun crowding the market, making it difficult for the Finowians to go on supporting their little state.
The film was produced on location at the Starnberg Waldkindergarden.
