DER LETZTE DOKUMENTARFILM
Deutschland, Niederlande 2000 – Director: Sponsel Daniel, Jan Sebening – Original language: German – Subtitles: German – Length: 65 min.
THE LAST DOCUMENTARY guides the spectator through over 100 years of documentary history. We take a very personal look at highly ambivalent material, such as: the first Lumière films, color film shots of World War II and family pictures on Super 8. Through interviews we encounter some of the most famous documentarists of the post-war era. Moreover we look at small model worlds and try out a Webcam and think about the future of moving images. THE LAST DOCUMENTARY is anything but a eulogy, it is instead an homage to a genre, that is more independent and vital than ever.
