How is film narration changing due to the development of new technologies? Sponsored by the Bayerische Landeszentrale für Neue Medien (BLM) and endowed with 2,500 euros, the DOK.digital Award seeks innovative solutions for the storytelling of documentary or journalistic factual content.

Dörthe Eickelberg is a director and presenter. She graduated from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, where she is also a guest lecturer today. After touring as a comedian and improv actress, she was hired by ARTE as a presenter for the daily science magazine XENIUS. Meanwhile she cofounded Labo M and she realized the award-winning arte documentary series CHICKS ON BOARDS. Her book THE NEXT WAVE IS YOURS was just published as a top title by PENGUIN BOOKS.

Boris Hars-Tschachotin An award winning filmmaker, installation artist, author, curator and founder of Liquid Blues Production, a production company focused on realizing feature films, documentaries and interactive art. Hars-Tschachotin loves crossing the border between art and science, challenging the ways documentary and fictional stories are told; a guest professor at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf for "Climate Communication in Audiovisual Media", as well as lectureship at The Academy of Architecture (Mendrisio, Switzerland) and holds a PhD in art history.

CEO & Executive Producer (INVR.SPACE GmbH)
Sönke Kirchhof is CEO and executive producer of award-winning VR Full Service Studio INVR.SPACE and in charge of all business-related operations as well as deciding on creative and technologic approaches. He works in the fields of VR, stereoscopic filmmaking, VFX and CGI Postproduction as well as Research and Development in arts and technology since more than 15 years. He is also founder of reallifefilm international GmbH, working as Producer and Stereographer in all kind of projects.
Filmmaker / Screenwriter / Vertical Storyteller (Suli Kurban)
The screenwriter and director Suli Kurban has lived in Munich. The native Uyghur (Ürümchi) fled to Germany at the age of 11, politically persecuted. As an actress at the Münchener Kammerspiele, the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation became aware of Kurban in 2008. From then on she reports for the BR on socio-political issues. In 2009, Kurban was awarded the European Civis Media Prize. In 2011, Suli passed the entrance exam and completed a degree as a director at the University of Television and Film in Munich. In the meantime she realized several commissioned productions. Her films, film hybrids, Snapchat and Instagram, series hit the zeitgeist. Suli Kurban was in charge of the social media editorship for Vice Media of the real-time series @ichbinsophiescholl running on Instagram.
Creative Producer & Digital Storyteller (Bayerischer Rundfunk)
Matthias Leitner is a digital storyteller and creative producer. Since 2015, he has led the storytelling lab audience:first at Bayerischer Rundfunk. In the Format Development & Innovation team, he realizes pilot projects such as the messenger format "Ich, Eisner!", the social VR documentary "München 72," and the comedy podcast "In 5 Tagen Mord – Die Krimi-Challenge mit KI" (Murder in 5 Days – The Crime Challenge with AI). He co-initiated the ARD Game Jam and is currently involved in the development of a joint gaming strategy within an ARD-wide network. He has received numerous awards for his journalistic and artistic work, including the German Bundestag's 2020 Media Prize for "Ich, Eisner!", the Raindance Immersive Festival 2022 award for "Best Immersive Experience for Social Impact" for "München 72," and the Grimme Online Award 2024 for "In 5 Tagen Mord."
Freelance Designer (Henning Oskamp)
Henning Oskamp, born in Münster in 1991, grew up in the northern Ruhr region and studied sociology and design in Duisburg and Münster. As a bachelor's project at the Münster School of Design, he submitted the first concept for EUROPA in 2019. He currently lives, studies and works as a freelance designer in Berlin.

Katharina Schulz is a consultant at the Bayerischen Landeszentrale für neue Medien (BLM) in the area of content, promotion & media competence and a foundation consultant for the Stiftung Medienpädagogik Bayern, which was founded by the BLM. She studied Modern German Literature at the LMU Munich and completed the supplementary course „Theater-, Film- und Fernsehkritik“ at the August Everding Theatre Academy in cooperation with the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). She is currently a film consultant at the BLM.
