Lea Tama Springer

After graduating from high school, Springer trained as a film and video editor in Munich and worked mainly for documentary formats. A native of Munich, she has been studying documentary film and television journalism at the University of Television and Film Munich since fall 2019.

Eva Gemmer

In addition to her studies in cultural and political sciences in Hamburg and London, Gemmer completed a journalism apprenticeship as well as several internships at newspaper publishing houses and film productions. Since 2019, she has been studying documentary film and television journalism at the University of Television and Film Munich.

Hannah Jandl

After graduating from high school, Jandl studied philosophy at the University of Vienna. Meanwhile, she gained some experience on film sets and realised her own projects. Since fall 2019, she has been studying documentary film and television journalism at the University of Television and Film in Munich.

Shortlist Student Award

The Student Award of DOK.fest München presents outstanding documentary films by students of German-speaking film schools. The films are nominated for the Megaherz Student Award, worth 3,000 Euros.

The semi-autobiographical film essay of a daughter following the trail of her father, an ex-Soviet pilot, in Sudan. The possibility of doing his old job once again takes him far from home, since “work is work” even when it means being a long distance away from everything you have been familiar with up to that point. A film about flights of fancy and a long fall. Andrea Erja

Ksenia Ciuvaseva

When the filmmaker was 19 years old, she moved from Moldova to Germany to fulfill her dream of becoming a film director. After studying film at the Free University of Berlin and Charles University in Prague, she studied film directing at the Konrad Wolf Film University of Babelsberg.
