Family is good, coming to terms with it is better: as the granddaughter of Hungarian Holocaust survivors and daughter of a German mother, the young Danish director Susanne Kovács is caught between two stools. Born and raised in Denmark, she always embodied the horror of the past for her grandparents.

 

 

Biography

Susanne Kovács is a TV director from the Danish Media and Journalism School. She previously studied fine art and narrative storytelling in Germany and was trained in film making at the European Film College in Ebeltoft, Denmark. IT TAKES A FAMILY is her first feature-length documentary.
