The concept behind SHORT FILM DAY: Short films on the shortest day of the year, 21 December, all across the country, coordinated by AG Kurzfilm – the Federal Association of German Short Films. This year marks its 15th edition.
The campaign period now spans seven days: From 15 to 21 December 2026, DOK.education will join in the celebration by reopening the online theater of the Schule des Hörens with a fresh new look! Whether in a movie theater or a classroom, at a cultural center or an after-school program: The film MARIAN UND DIE WALDRAPPE and its accompanying media education program are suitable for grades 3 through 8.

MARIAN UND DIE WALDRAPPE

Marian recognizes them all by their feathers and singing: the Blue Tit, the Goldfinch and even the Northern Bald Ibis. This rare find in his home region of South Tyrol strengthens Marian's passion for birds. Bernadette Hauke is a freelance writer and director. Her work focuses on nature, the environment, and society. She particularly enjoys working on film projects for children and works as a producer for Pangolin Doxx Film.
