For adults: Film Lesen Lernen
Adult Education at the Münchner Volkshochschule
In this event, the MVHS will screen an artistic documentary from the current program of DOK.fest München and then invite you to an in-depth discussion with a film educator from DOK.education, the educational division of the International Documentary Film Festival Munich.
Through the guided film analysis, your eye for the media’s representation of reality will be sharpened. You will learn about the often subtle yet effective directorial choices that documentary filmmakers make to shape our perception of reality.
Anyone who wants to not only experience films but also learn to “read” them consciously will gain valuable insights here. The event is aimed at anyone interested in film who would like to learn more about the genre of artistic documentary film. No prior knowledge or materials are required.

Biography
Sarah Van Dale is a film director, writer, and editor. She is fascinated by young people's world—by their way of thinking, seeing, dreaming, struggling... „Instead of directing them, they are directing the style of my film.” This makes most of her films a hybrid experience.
