Bird-watching tour

Prior to the screening of WATCHING PEOPLE WATCHING BIRDS at the Theatiner Kino, there will be a free bird-watching tour in the English Garden. The tour will be led by bird enthusiast and nature guide Thomas Griesohn-Pflieger, who is also one of the film’s protagonists.

(Von-der-Tann-Straße / corner of Freiherr-von-Pechmann-Weg)

From the meeting point, the tour proceeds to the English Garden and along the Schwabinger Bach. The tour ends at approximately 10.40am at the Theatiner Kino. Following the film screening, there will be a Q&A session with Ulrike Franke and Michael Loeken (directors).

If you have binoculars, please bring them. The tour will be canceled in case of continuous rain.

A valid movie ticket for one of the four screenings of WATCHING PEOPLE WATCHING BIRDS is required for participation.

Biography

Ulrike Franke was born in Dortmund and studied theater, film, and television studies, Romanic languages, and art history in Cologne. She gained production experience at various production companies and teaches documentary filmmaking at the KHM in Cologne. Michael Loeken is from Neviges. He studied theater, film, and television studies in Cologne. He initially gained film experience as a sound engineer. Franke and Loeken have been shooting and producing documentary films together since 1996.
