LES GLANEURS ET LA GLANEUSE
Frankreich 2000 – Director: Agnès Varda – Original language: French – Subtitles: English – Length: 82 min.
They stoop down to pick up leftover potatoes in the fields; they rifle through supermarket bins in the suburbs. The gleaners are still among us. Agnès Varda’s expert hand ushers us into a precious reality that goes beyond consumption. Here, the act of gleaning is born out of existential necessity and pure desire – a poetic reflection.
