BECOMING KIM

As Jeong Rae returns to Korea to open a chicken restaurant, Susanne's marriage begins to falter. She directs the camera at her own life to understand how love can prevail under these circumstances. With keen observation and cleverly staged self-portraits, she chronicles her relationship between Leipzig and Korea. M.R.

Biography

Susanne Kim lives and works in Leipzig. After studying journalism and political science in Leipzig and at the European Film College in Denmark, she made several documentaries that were shown at national and international festivals and in cinemas. Her films combine personal narratives and intercultural perspectives with essayistic and hybrid forms.
