Chris, a devoted husband and father, wanted to start a new life in Botswana. Yet a family trauma continues to haunt him. In the 1980s, Zimbabwean President Mugabe had his father murdered, along with 20,000 other Ndebele people in the Matabeleland region. The autocrat’s removal from power in 2017 finally offers Chris and his family the chance to find peace. B.O.
Biography
Nayasha Kadandara, native of Zimbabwe, holds a Master’s degree in Journalism and Documentary Film from the Columbia Journalism School. Her directorial and cinematography work has been screened at renowned film festivals worldwide. MATABELELAND is her debut documentary film.
