In the Paraguayan department of Caazapá, a community of European emigrants lives in the isolated colony of “El Paraíso Verde.” Here they are seeking refuge from the diffuse threats of the modern world and apocalyptic doomsday scenarios. At the same time, the film tells the story of two young people from the neighboring village, whose world is shaped by local myths and the colonial history of the region. P.B.
Biography
Yulia Lokshina studied documentary filmmaking at the HFF Munich. Her graduation film REGELN AM BAND, BEI HOHER GESCHWINDIGKEIT won the Max Ophüls Prize and the German Film Critics' Award, among others. ACTIVE VOCABULARY received the Golden Dove at DOK Leipzig in 2025.
